The CME Globex session runs from Sunday 17:00 CT through Friday 16:00 CT, with a sixty-minute daily maintenance break at 16:00. That makes it the closest thing in regulated US markets to round-the-clock trading.

For most US-listed futures - equity indices, oil, gold, crypto - Globex is where overnight risk is priced. The cash equity session that follows is a much shorter window inside this longer day.
